A New Day For Dad

We packed up and hit the road quickly yesterday.

I forgot some important things, such as a belt, a cell phone charger, etc. I left work early and we took off for Illinois about 5:30 Michigan time and arrived at the Eureka hospital 4 hours later.

Meanwhile, the doctors had drained fluid from dad Blunier's lungs. He had slept, and was much improved when we arrived.

He was thrilled to have his family gathered around him, and told stories of his memories of children. Each story an indication to things that mattered most to him. Over and over he expressed his thanks to the Lord for saving Him, and joy in his relationship with Christ.

It was a bittersweet blessing. Happy to be hear. Honored to shake his hand again and speak with him. Sad to see him leave. Hard to believe that in the matter of days, weeks or who knows . . . a short time, Henry Blunier will stand face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ.

I can't imagien what that would be like, but I would look forward to the day.

Adam
